Stolen bike found

Have you found a bike or recovered yours after a theft? The BicyCode database and law enforcement agencies play a key role in these situations. Find out here what you need to do to act quickly and effectively, whether you're dealing with a stolen bike or finally recovering your own.

Report a bike

found or recovered

You've just found a stolen bike identified with Bicycode?

First of all, check its status on the APIC website.

Check status

If the bike's status is indicated as "stolen", to avoid being accused of receiving stolen goods, go to your nearest police station (Commissariat or Gendarmerie) and give them the bike and its BicyCode identifier. They can then access the National File to contact the owner and inform him or her that the bike has been found.

Has your bike been found?

The BicyCode database is accessible only to law enforcement agencies, who will be able to contact you if your contact details are correctly updated in your BicyCode account.

It is therefore important to check that your contact details are up to date, by logging into yourBicyCode account.

Once you've found your bike, remember to change its status by declaring it "found" in your BicyCode account. And if your bike is damaged and no longer roadworthy, report it as destroyed in your user account
.
